Halloween in Saugatuck/Douglas

From kid’s events like glow-in-the-dark dance parties, to adult favorites like the Giant Pumpkin King rising from the ashes, there’s always something grand and a bit spooky happening in the Saugatuck/Douglas area for Halloween, and this year is no exception. October 26 and 27 will be the weekend where all five community Halloween events for kids, pets and adults will take place.

The celebration begins on Friday, October 26 with “Glow in the Park,” taking place at Cook Park in downtown Saugatuck from 6 – 9:30 p.m. This family-friendly event includes music, food and drinks along with glow-in-the-dark activities (dancing!) for kids. On Saturday the 27th, “Scary Beery in the Park” kick’s off the festivities in downtown Douglas from 1 – 3 p.m., and will feature games, a book walk, food from Smokin’ Joe’s Barbeque, and more. After that, take the family to Wick’s Park for Saugatuck’s Annual Halloween Kids & Pets Parade, which will line up at 3:30 p.m. It will include a costume contest, Doghrunts Donut truck, wagon rides through town and more! After the kids and family activities die down, the Douglas Halloween Parade for Adults will line up in front of Beery Field and proceed down the parade route lead by the giant parade mascot, the Pumpkin King. Adults can end the Halloween celebration at the Halloween Bash, with karaoke, drinks and dancing at the Dunes Resort!
