Description
Learn what music and floral arranging have in common with our lives through hands-on experience. Join our summer exhibition artist, Chicago-based floral designer, John Caleb Pendleton and SCA Creative Fellow, music therapist Caila Conklin for this collaborative and multidisciplinary workshop that explores the intersection of floral and musical arranging. Participants will be thoughtfully guided through concepts of floral design while exploring musical sounds to build an improvised layered soundscape. Life is a collection of layered lived experiences, where both joys and sorrows are ever-present. How do we balance the ups and downs of life and transform them into something beautiful? Draw inspiration and reflect on your own experiences with grief and joy, while creating these arrangements. Leave with a completed floral design. All skill levels welcome and all supplies are included.
