Can’t Miss Halloween Parties in Saugatuck/Douglas

This weekend is going to be full of frightful fun in Saugatuck/Douglas as we celebrate with the Annual Halloween Parade for Adults in downtown Douglas. This famous nighttime affair will draw crowds from across the state of Michigan and beyond – but not just for the parade itself; pre and post parade parties and events make this evening one not to miss.

Family-Friendly Pre-Parade Fun

Luminescence Exhibit at Saugatuck Center for the Arts

Want to have some holiday fun with the kids before the adult parade, start in Fennville at Forever Curious Children’s Museum for Tricks and Treats. Kids in costume get in for free from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for pumpkin painting, a spooky photo booth and more. After crafts and fun in Fennville, head to downtown Saugatuck at noon for the Annual Halloween Kids & Pets Parade. Let the kids enter the costume contest or participate in the sidewalk chalk art contest along Water Street before trick-or-treating your way through downtown Saugatuck.

Stop by Saugatuck Center for the Arts to experience the hands-on, glow-in-the-dark Luminescence Exhibit on your way to downtown Douglas to enjoy barbeque, more trick-or-treating and family fun during Scary Beery in the Park from 1 – 3 p.m. End the night with games, another costume contest, an 80’s dance party and more at Guardian Brewing Company’s Boos & Brews event.

For adult-only fun, start the day at Saugatuck Brewing Company on Saturday morning for a free Brewery Tour at 11:30 a.m., complete with beer samplings. Stay for lunch, or head down the road to J. Petter Galleries for their Hallowine Event from noon – 5 p.m., where you’ll enjoy wine tasting and watch a master ice carver create ghoulish creatures from pumpkins and gourds in the gallery.

For pre-parade parties, you can take your pick of where you’d like to go first depending on where you’re staying:
