Please use this page as your resource for the best local information on travel to and from Saugatuck/Douglas.

General Travel Information

Leisure travel is open. Visitors are encouraged to confirm all reservations and travel plans in advance. For your planning convenience, be sure to check out our list of businesses to see what’s open HERE.  Updated continuously, this page lists the current operating hours and days for our restaurants, shops, and galleries.

Be prepared to travel responsibly and bring a face mask—just in case.
While mask restrictions have been lifted for fully vaccinated individuals as of May 15, the most recent order issued by the MDHHS requires that businesses must make a “good faith effort” to ensure unvaccinated people continue wearing masks. This order defines making a good faith effort as one of the following three options:

  1. Putting up signs to say unvaccinated people must still wear masks
  2. Asking customers if they are vaccinated (or have any other exemption)
  3. Requiring everyone to wear masks.

It will be up to each individual business to decide how they will comply with the above guidelines.

In addition, 50% indoor capacity limits are still in place for our retailers, restaurants, and bars. Many restaurants are offering outdoor seating in addition to indoor seating. Reservations are strongly advised. Please see the link above for a listing of local restaurants with current hours of operation.

Outdoor recreational areas, such as Oval Beach and the Saugatuck Dunes State Park, are open to the public.
