HEMPY Music Series at the SCA

Noted for his “jaw dropping display of improvisational power,” jazz pianist and composer Michael Malis shares an intimate program of solo piano music entitled “Hold Close, Let Go.” The program is a response to SCA’s theme for 2025: Thrive. Using original compositions and repertoire from the jazz canon, Malis weaves a sonic tapestry of stories related to nearness, distance, family, culture, migration, and actualization.
