KIDS CAMP - ROYAL FLUSH (AGES 7+)

This offering will be hosted at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts in an open-air classroom (400 Culver St. Saugatuck, MI 49453). A prepackaged snack will be provided for each camper. Have a favorite card game? Come share it during this two-day workshop! Local painter, Hope Olson, recently released a series of playful paintings inspired by the Kings, Queens, and Jacks found in card decks. Children will work alongside Hope to create their own “Royal Portraits” inspired by the monarchical characters in card decks. They’ll also take home their own customized deck of playing cards. Hope Olson is a painter and mixed-media artist based in Holland, Michigan. Her art celebrates home, community, and slow, old-fashioned living. She earned a B.S. in Interior Design from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, and also focused her college coursework in studio art and marketing. All live-instruction camps are dependent on State guidelines. Should the State “dial back” gathering guidelines in the future the SCA will comply. If this should happen, all impacted classes would be cancelled; patrons would receive e-notification and be refunded.
