Parking in the Saugatuck/Douglas Area

Having trouble finding parking in the Saugatuck/Douglas area? Not to worry. We’ve created a condensed list of public and paid parking within each downtown area – with maps! Hopefully this saves you time, so you can spend more time outdoors and less time circling the block.

Public Parking Options:

Street Parking – All street parking throughout downtown Saugatuck is free.

Dykstra Funeral Home (520 Lake Street)  – This lot is located just a few blocks from the downtown area. Free parking is offered until 11 p.m.

FREE Parking & Shuttle System (Saugatuck High School) – Free parking at Saugatuck High School or downtown Douglas and taking a free shuttle service to various stops downtown Saugatuck and Douglas (route shown below). This service runs every 15 minutes on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. from June 1 – Labor Day. On Saturday & Sundays, the bus stops every hour on the hour in downtown Douglas. This is sponsored by the Saugatuck/Douglas Convention & Visitors Bureau, Saugatuck/Douglas Area Business Association, Liz Engel – Century 21, City of Douglas and Interurban Transit Authority.

Paid Parking Options, Downtown Saugatuck:

Chemical Bank (249 Mason Street, downtown Saugatuck) – After 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday & Sunday, parking is available for a $5 fee. Proceeds go to Saugatuck/Douglas Schools.

Public Lot (Culver Street, next to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, downtown Saugatuck) –  This lot is located next to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts and is open for a $5 fee; proceeds go to Saugatuck/Douglas schools.

Public On Call Shuttle Bus System

Interurban Transit Authority 

This public transportation system is a great option for those not wanting to deal with parking. All you have to do is call as early as 15 minutes in advance; for a dollar, the bus will provide curb-curb service within Saugatuck Township (which includes Saugatuck, Douglas and most of Fennville).
