Mamma Mia! (June 22 – July 15)
The SCA welcomes the feel-good classic that has captured the heart of fans around the world. Mamma Mia! unfolds on a Greek island paradise and features a daughter’s quest to discover the identify of her father on the eve her wedding…with three men from her mother’s past…all on the island they visited 20 years ago; enough said.
This is a story that celebrates life, love, and friendship and will leave anyone feeling upbeat. I mean how could you not with the ABBA soundtrack? You’ll probably walk out singing – Mamma Mia!, here I go again.
If you’re looking for dinner options, head over to the Kirby for a pre-Mamma Mia! dinner special.
Dixie’s Never Wear a Tubetop While Riding a Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things I Learned While I was Drinking Last Thursday (July 25 – August 5)
The second show of the season brings the wildly popular Dixie Longate back to the SCA. The sequel to Dixie’s Tupperware Party will have audiences reeling with laughter as Dixie shares her unfiltered (Southern-fried) advice and lessons learned after a hard night of drinking. Aside from all the jokes and tangents, there are many newly discovered life lessons and messages throughout the show. We’re sure you’ll end the night wishing there was a Dixie’s…trilogy.
Once (August 15 – September 2)
The final show in the series ends with a hauntingly beautiful musical that will provide the audience with a truly unique theatrical experience. Not only will they get to witness the story of an Irish street-musician about to give up on his dream, but they will see the magic and beauty of a budding relationship as a woman pursues the musician and his music.
In addition to allure and depth, Once will vary from previous shows this season due to the fact spectators will not only see performers acting, singing and dancing (if that’s not enough), but playing their own instruments on stage – how cool is that?
