Saugatuck/Douglas Named A Top Lake Town by TripAdvisor

One of the greatest aspects of the Saugatuck/Douglas region is the fact that you can visit here to do everything, and do nothing. Whether it’s a round of golf or a round of beers; hiking trails or setting sails; relaxing at the beach or diving into the surf; it’s all waiting for you, in the Art Coast of Michigan.

But don’t take our word for it – TripAdvisor recently included us in a recent article listing “North America’s 18 Best Lake Towns (For Relaxation or Adventure),” which lists 18 lake towns who have both amazing relaxing and recreation opportunities.

In the article, TripAdvisor says: “Saugatuck, settled on the pristine shores of Lake Michigan, is often regarded as a hidden gem coastal getaway, making it a worthy addition to our list of best lake towns. One of Saugatuck’s main attractions is Oval Beach, where the water is crystal clear and the sunsets are seemingly endless. For an adrenaline-pumping adventure, venture out on a Dune Ride on the lake’s scenic sand dunes! Stroll down Saugatuck’s main street, Butler Street, for great shopping and a delicious meal at one of the many local restaurants.”

We couldn’t agree more with TripAdvisor’s assessment: Saugatuck/Douglas is the perfect place to Do Everything and Do Nothing. Whether you’re hiking the trails at Saugatuck Dunes State Park, floating on the Kalamazoo River, sailing the shimmering blue waters of lake Michigan or scaling the stairs up Mt. Baldhead, you’re sure to find plenty of action and adventure – or rest and relaxation – in Saugatuck/Douglas.
