Saugatuck Expo Begins This Weekend: Here’s What You Need to Know

This weekend kicks off our month-long celebration, Saugatuck Expo, by celebrating the culinary arts through our key featured events: Taste of EatdrinkSDF and Restaurant Week. And if delicious food and beverage doesn’t do it for you, we have a full lineup of arts-centered events taking place this month with something for everyone.

So you’ve already planned which week(s) you’ll be attending, what events you want to hit, but to enjoy Saugatuck Expo to its fullest, here are a few tips to make the most of your experience in the Art Coast:

Transportation:

While Uber and Lyft are nice, there’s nothing quite as fast, convenient and fun as our local public transportation systems, the Interurban and Saugatuck Harbor Water Taxi. Contact the Interurban (which is handicap accessible) at (269) 857-1418 to have them pick you up for only $1 per person! Contact Saugatuck Harbor Water Taxi at (269) 543-2257 and get from one end of the city to the other on the Kalamazoo River! Follow them on Facebook or call for their current operating schedule.

The Interurban is also providing a free shuttle service every Saturday during June from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Saugatuck High School into downtown Saugatuck. The Interurban stops at the Saugatuck Chain Ferry and Saugatuck Info Booth every 15 minutes. See the Interurban bus route below:

Parking:

Both downtown Douglas and downtown Saugatuck are both extremely walkable once the car is parked. But where to park? Click here for a condensed list of public and paid parking within each downtown area.

Lodging:

Rest easy, we can help you find the perfect Saugatuck hotel, bed & breakfast, vacation rental, or resort from our amazing lodging options in the Art Coast of Michigan. Don’t forget to book your stay with one of our many lodging partners for Saugatuck Expo. Click here for availability and booking.

Fun for the whole family:

With our town’s creative history, natural amenities and recreation opportunities, there are plenty of ways to explore our region with the entire family 365 days a year, and Saugatuck Expo is no exception.
