The Southerner welcomes Laurent-Perrier.

Join us as we celebrate the great connections between Champagne, France, and southern Appalachia. Both regions have a rich history and appreciation for their land and craft.

Chef Matt Millar has once again crafted a tasting menu highlighting the flavors of Appalachia. Matt’s menu will be paired with the incredible wines of Laurent-Perrier, which will be represented by their very own, Joanne Schmidt.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with a reception before being seated for your first of five courses at 7pm.

1st course: Eggs Sardou – fried artichocke, spinach & ham double cream, poached egg, anchovy, hot sauce hollandaise, tomato confit

2nd course: Chicory Salad – delicata squash, pickled apple, roasted maitake mushroom, smoked duck, green peppercorn vinaigrette

3rd course: Cauliflower Soup – barely poached weathervane scallop, jowl bacon, smoked char roe

4th course: Pheasant – roulade with black figs & aged ham, roasted root vegetables, celery root soubise, jus

5th course: Coal Roasted Banana – warm black walnut bread, goat’s milk caramel, mushroom anglaise
