Oval Beach

Located in Saugatuck

Amenities: Concession stand, grills available, permanent restrooms in summer months

Accessibility: No stairs to the beach; beach wheelchair and floating wheelchair available 

No dogs or alcohol permitted

Parking/Access: Ample parking, but fills up on busy summer days; $10 per car (cash or credit), $50 season pass; Free Labor Day – Memorial Day

Saugatuck Dunes State Park

Located in Holland

Amenities: 13 miles of trails, mountain bike trail, disc golf course, picnic shelter, grill, permanent vault restrooms in summer months

Dogs allowed on 6 ft leash. No alcohol permitted

Parking/Access: Ample parking, State park permit or pay day-use fee of $9, cash only

Located in Fennville

Good to Know

Oval Beach is ADA-accessible and has a beach wheelchair and floating wheelchair available for use. Saugatuck Dunes State Park is barrier-free, but the elevation changes and .75-mile distance to the beach may be challenging for those with mobility issues.

Saugatuck Dunes State Park charges a day-use fee of $9 (cash only) unless you have a state park permit. There is ample parking. 

Oval Beach charges a fee of $10 per car (cash or credit) or $50 for a season pass during the summer. There is ample parking that fills up quickly on busy summer days. Beach access is free from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

All other beaches are free but have limited parking.

Yes, you may swim at your own risk at all the beaches. There are no lifeguards on duty.

Pets are only allowed at the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and must always be on a 6-ft leash, under an owner’s immediate control.

Alcohol is not permitted at any of the beaches.

Specific hours are posted at all beach entrances but typically run from dusk until dawn. 

Beach gear is available for rent at Woosah in Douglas and In the Elements Rental in Saugatuck.

Oval Beach is the only beach with a concession stand. Plan accordingly and bring a picnic or snacks from one of our many local eateries or restaurants.
