Nestled between Saugatuck and Douglas on Route 31 along Michigan’s historic West Michigan Pike–the Blue Star Highway–lies the Blue Star Motel, one of the area’s newest entrants in the craze to re-gentrify, reclaim and upgrade “the Pike’s” historic retro auto courts…some of the last remaining vestiges of the Old Dixie Highway that opened up tourism along the West Michigan lakeshore at the turn of the century. The Blue Star Motel lies within easy walking distance to some of the Douglas area’s most popular night spots and restaurants along this lively stretch of highway. Guests can also retreat to the motel’s back yard patio, a quiet setting, surrounded by trees and hidden from the outside world. There, guests have access to a covered pavilion, outdoor furniture, fire pit, shared grill and above ground hot tub in a convivial atmosphere conducive to meeting other travelers. This motel which is particularly suited for couples and singles, features nine rooms with in-room refrigerators, microwaves, air conditioning, cable enabled flat screen TV’s, WIFI, coffee makers, snack center stocked with treats and water, and continental breakfast served in our breakfast nook from 8am to 10am. Additionally, there is one spacious suite space great for a larger family or a small group of friends with a full kitchen, living room, 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and a separate patio area. This unique space sleeps 6 adults. With modern updates, mobile check in is available for guests so check in is quick and effortless. In addition to our amenities listed below we offer a new covered pavilion and deck and fire pit.
