All’s Fair in Love and Art

There’s nothing like spending a pleasant summer afternoon wandering through the art fair booths of regional and national makers and looking for treasures to take home.

Each year, the Saugatuck Douglas Art Club hosts two juried outdoor art fairs in July. The Waterfront Invitational Fine Art Fair and the Village Square Arts and Crafts Fair are both open-air art fairs that attract art collectors and art lovers from near and far.

The fairs showcase the work of fine artists working in a variety of media: painting, photography, glass, woodworking, ceramics, jewelry, basketry, mixed media, fibers, mosaic, printmaking, and sculpture. Shop beautiful and diverse works from artisans from around the nation. Fair proceeds go toward furthering the arts in our area–through scholarships, local art programs, and the public school art program.

Established in 1953, the Saugatuck Douglas Art Club has been tirelessly supporting and enhancing arts education in the Saugatuck-Douglas area. Since its inception, this group has shown a spotlight on our area’s rich cultural heritage, supported freedom of artistic expression, and has served as an incubator, sponsor, and supporter of both artists and arts organizations in our artistically vibrant hometowns.
