Bring Home a Piece of Saugatuck

Take a little something home with you to remind you of your travels. Or show your friends and relatives you’ve been thinking of them by bringing back a special gift.

Ceramics displayed at Jeff Blandford Gallery.

To help you relive your stay in Saugatuck/Douglas, here’s a small list of local treasures and where to find them.

Special Coffee Blends

Uncommon Roasters is a small-batch specialty coffee roaster that roasts thoughtfully-sourced coffee beans in-house. In addition to some of the most delicious coffee found in Saugatuck/Douglas, visitors can buy mugs, Hydro Flasks, beanies, and t-shirts to remind themselves that life is too short to drink bad coffee.

The Calming Effects of Lavender

With over 1200 lavender plants, a variety of peaceful gardens, and fountains, Summerhouse Lavender Farms is a wonderful place where guests can embrace the sense of calm peacefulness that lavender brings. There are many lavender-based products that make for thoughtful gifts, including essential oils, soy candles, lavender body lotion, goat milk soap, and bath bombs.

Bounty of the Fruit Belt

No visit to the area is complete without a stop at Crane’s Pie Pantry. Using fresh fruit straight off the farm, fruit pies and preserves are made the old fashioned way from family recipes passed down through generations. Bring home a taste of Crane’s with an orchard crate that includes jars of cherry, blueberry, and raspberry preserves. Or arrange for a pie to be shipped home for baking.

Sweet Treats

Confections are made in the storefront window of Kilwins Chocolates, where visitors can enjoy watching fudge and caramel made the old-fashioned way in shiny copper kettles, on marble slab tables, and crafted with wooden paddles. While there, try their original recipe ice cream, but be sure to bring home some handmade fudge, chocolates, or hand-dipped caramel apples.

Saugatuck Apparel

A specialty outdoor store located in the heart of Saugatuck, Landsharks, has been a downtown classic since 1989. Unique graphic t-shirts that bear the town name can be found here along with all sorts of apparel suitable for outdoor adventures or a casual evening out on the town.

Beer / Wine / Cider

With two craft cideries, three craft breweries, and four wineries located right here, bottles or cans of your favorite local craft beverage need to be on your take-home list. And since they won’t last long, consider purchasing some other merch too. Saugatuck Brewing Company and Waypost Brewing Co. have t-shirts, hoodies, hats, howlers, and more.

Original Art

We wouldn’t be the Art Coast of Michigan without the many galleries and artists’ studios located throughout our area. Why not bring home some original artwork to grace your space? For smaller souvenirs for family and friends, James Brandess Studios & Gallery sells hand-deckled cards suitable for framing while the Jeff Blandford Gallery features bowls and mini vases that make for unique gifts.
