A 1.7-mile (about 70 min.) loop through wooded dunes between Lake Michigan and the Kalamazoo River. The trail starts on a low path and gradually rises to the Crow’s Nest, where the view will knock your socks off! On the way back you follow a ridge high above the river. The trail gets steep at several points and there are lots of roots. The trail passes close to buildings that art part of the Ox-Bow School of Art. Tallmadge Woods is a conservation easement owned by the City of Saugatuck and managed by the Land Conservancy of West Michigan.
