2 Day Weaving Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the traditional craft of rag rug weaving from start to finish. You’ll work on one of two beautiful 4-harness floor looms (Harrisville 36” or Schacht 36”) already set up and ready for you to weave. The looms will be “dressed” with carpet warp — the long vertical threads that form the foundation of your rug. You’ll add the weft — the horizontal strips of material you weave over and under the warp — using provided supplies, Carpet Wool, Cotton Bends and Upholstery Selvedges. (Almost anything works for weft: fabric scraps, denim, wool, cotton)

Day 1: 12-5pm, Learn how the loom works, get comfortable with the process, and start weaving your rug or wall hanging.

Day 2: 12-Until finished, Finish your project and take home your very own — one-of-a-kind weaving that you created yourself.
