5 – 9 PM. Saugatuck Center for the Arts, Downtown Saugatuck.

Start your summer story — boat rides, beach walks, cook outs and sunsets — at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts (SCA)! We’re jumping into summer vacation with an outdoor concert featuring one of Michigan’s hottest indie-folk bands, The Accidentals.

Indulge in delicious food truck fare, craft drinks, hands-on art-making activities, exclusive art for purchase, and community conversations.

The gallery at the SCA will feature a brand new exhibition, Storied Drawings: Works by Rebecca GreenGinnie HsuHillery Sproatt and Libby Vanderploeg.

The exhibition brings together four talented young artists and visual story-tellers whose drawing-based works range from GIF’s, interactive illustration (featuring conductive ink!) and animation to painting and ceramics. The exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into each of their diverse practices, as well as their unique cross-disciplinary applications that include children’s books, advertising, textiles, and fabrics.

Don’t miss our related summer children’s programs including storytelling, painting with conductive ink and illustrating comic books, taught by Libby Vanderploeg and Ginnie Hsu.
