One Day Only – Wet Wall Exhibition and Art Sale

The Wet Wall Exhibition & Art Sale on Saturday, May 2 at J. Petter Galleries offers a real-time glimpse into the local art scene, featuring approximately 40 paintings created just days earlier, from April 29 through May 2, on location throughout Douglas and Saugatuck. This “wet wall” concept highlights freshly completed works—often still drying—that capture the light, landscapes, and character of the lakeshore area, from dunes and harbors to charming streetscapes. The event combines exhibition and immediate sale, allowing visitors to view and purchase these one-of-a-kind pieces straight off the wall, often while meeting the artists behind them. With its lively, event-like atmosphere and sense of urgency, the show draws collectors and art lovers alike who are eager to experience and take home a moment of the region as it was captured during those exact spring days. Awards and reception happen from 2pm-5pm.
