In this workshop, students will design and create their own terra-cotta planters using red earthenware clay. You’ll explore hand-building techniques including slab construction with cut patterns, as well as pinching, coiling, and appliqué to add form, texture, and personal character. The class will begin with constructing the basic planter shape in the morning, followed by refining, detailing, and completing each vessel after lunch. Fired planters can be picked up at Ox-Bow at a later date.

Plan to bring: an apron or clothes suitable for getting messy.
