Saugatuck Douglas Area CVB Featured As One of 28 U.S. Pride Organizations to Participate in Virtual Pride Celebration
Saugatuck, MI – June 25, 2020 – The Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will be one of 28 founding Pride Organizations from across the country participating in the first-ever VirtualPride.com event on June 28, 2020. Hosted by GayTravel.com, the Virtual Pride event will be held 50 years to the date of the very first Pride March, originally called the “Christopher Street Liberation Day March” in New York in 1970.
“We’re honored to participate in the Virtual Pride Celebration event with the unique opportunity to showcase our area that, for decades, has welcomed LGTBQ visitors with open arms,” said Lisa Mize, Interim Executive Director, Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “With over 140 gay-owned and LGTBQ-friendly businesses and one of the country’s largest LGTBQ resorts, Saugatuck and Douglas has shown visitors year after year that small coastal towns can be full of charm as well as inclusive and welcoming.”
The inaugural Virtual Pride event will kick off on 11:30am ET on virtualpride.com and on Twitter @gaytravel using #VirtualPride. Viewers can interact with their favorite Pride events on twitter and view videos and images from 28 participating cities from New York, Chicago, and Cleveland to Los Angeles, Alaska and Hawaii. Saugatuck will be featured at 1:50pm ET and the event will conclude at 4:30 ET.
