Description:
10:00am - 12:30pm. Saugatuck Center for the Arts. This offering will be hosted at the Outdoor Discovery Center’s campus: 4214 56th St, Holland, MI 49423. Pick up and drop off will occur in front of the Visitor Center by the main entrance. A prepackaged snack will be provided for each camper. Do you know about the dirt you walk on every day? We do! In this session, we’ll look at the varieties and functions of different soils in West Michigan. Then, Scotty Jacobs from Specialty Gardens will walk campers through the process of growing plants in this area. Come explore the outdoors with creative eyes. Dive into the intricate world of trees, soil, critters, patterns in nature, and more. We will meet at the Outdoor Discovery Center where we will explore and create artwork based on what we’ve learned. You’ll make connections between art and the outdoors that are bound to spark your curiosity about the world around you. Dress for dirt and prepare for adventures! All live-instruction camps are dependent on State guidelines. Should the State “dial back” gathering guidelines in the future the SCA will comply. If this should happen, all impacted classes would be cancelled; patrons would receive e-notification and be refunded.
