White on White Painting Workshop

Registration is OPEN for this Summer’s Workshop in Peachbelt Studio’s private backyard & meadow garden facilitated by oil painter Dawn Stafford. Sign up for 4 sessions / 12 hours of study / $300 / August 3-6 / 10am-1pm each day. Please register with link below to confirm availability, and submit payment to confirm registration. This is an Oil Painting Workshop where you will paint together from a still life designed to help you better understand the many nuances of color. Building on the knowledge of working with the color wheel, “White on White” doesn’t mean you will paint exclusively with white, it means you will learn use white as a color, not just as perceived ‘light’, and therefore broaden the understanding of ALL colors relationships. Renior said; nothing is so difficult, and at the same time exciting, to paint as white on white.

Pure pigment oil paint included in the class.
As always expect a lot of mixing on the palette.
Core concepts: Value, color contrasts and relativity. Contrasts driven by content from Itten (Bauhaus), Klee, Albers, Morandi, and many others.
