Live musical performances are part of the art coast experience, and there is no shortage of opportunities to treat your ears while visiting Saugatuck, Douglas, and Fennville. Here, we give you the top places to catch free music during the summer season.
Music in the Park
Starting on Jun 22, popular bands play at Wicks Park Gazebo in Saugatuck every Wednesday from 7–9 pm. Family-friendly and free of charge, guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and a picnic and get ready to dance.
Thursdays in the Park
Kicking off on July 7, the Fennville City Music Hall concert series happens every Thursday for the rest of the summer in downtown Fennville’s Memorial Park and features a variety of musical genres.
Thursdays at the Felt
Every Thursday in July, starting at 7 pm, the Felt Estate hosts its annual outdoor summer concert series. Admission is free with food and beverages available for purchase beginning at 6 pm.
Music in the Vineyards
Enjoy live music amidst the beautiful setting of Fenn Valley Vineyards every Thursday from 5:30 – 7:30 pm from June 2 through September 8, and on Saturdays from 2:00 – 5:00 pm from June 4 to October 8, weather permitting. Admission is free with food and wine available for purchase. A limited number of picnics tables are available, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Live Music on the Lawn
Spend a weekend evening listening to your favorite current and classic cover songs performed acoustically by talented artists on Borrowed Time’s lawn on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Secret Garden Guitar Series
Enjoy the smooth sounds of local guitarists each Saturday from May 28 through October 29 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in J. Petter Galleries’ Art Garden, where you can also savor boutique wines and artisan cheeses as you admire the fine art.
Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival
Beginning in July, a six-week Chamber Music Festival takes place at the Saugatuck Women’s Club on Thursday and Friday evenings. This festival kicks off with a free family-friendly concert in Douglas’s Beery Field, featuring the Holland Symphony Brass Quintet.
